Standard stock agencies work with a limited number of photographers and generally require a significant commitment on the part of the photographer to maintain the relationship. The photographer must provide the agency with an initial body of work and add to the collection over time. Because the agencies are able to pick and choose which photographers they work with and require a large committment on the part of the photographer, only a small percentage of professional photographers are represented by stock agencies.

With Photomatica, any professional photographer or graphic artist can use the Photomatica system to market their work. A photographer may make available as many or as few images as they choose. Photomatica opens up the stock image market to the vast majority of photographers who currently have no avenue to sell their images.
