Love vintage photo booths as much as us? This Auto Photo Model 14 could be ALL yours!

The Auto-Photo Model 14 was designed in 1958 in Los Angeles and was manufactured until 1974. The Model 14 was dreamed up in the mid-century modern design era. Andy Warhol did his photo strip art in this same model in midtown Manhatten in the 60’s. The booth has the classic, “Take Your Own Miniature Portraits” signage, the famous floating roof, and is a museum-grade piece. There are only a few dozen of these beauties in existence that are publicly available.

About the Model 14 Photo Booth…

Some people call it an analog photo booth, a dip and dunk, or a chemical photo booth. But whatever you want to call it, the Auto Photo Model 14 is a true piece of American history, and can be all yours

A bit of history: In 1958, the Auto-Photo Company introduced the Model 14, its last black and white machine. Eventually the corporation was bought by Photo-Me, a British company based in Bookham, Surrey, operating internationally. By the 1960s, the advent of Polaroid photography spelled doom for the “four strip,” a fixture at arcades and drugstores everywhere. In the 1970s, color strips became big sellers, replacing the black and white photos of yore, and business was shrinking. Chemical photo booths were eventually phased out, all but killing the industry.
