    As Museum Manager, you'll be the glue that holds daily operations together — anticipating needs, solving problems before they escalate, and creating an environment where staff feel supported and set up to succeed. You'll balance big-picture thinking with hands-on involvement, stepping in wherever the museum needs you most.

    Team Leadership and Scheduling

    • Create, manage, and maintain the staff schedule to ensure appropriate coverage and efficient operations. This includes approving time off requests. 

    • Conduct monthly or bi-monthly check-ins with staff to provide feedback, discuss growth opportunities, and address any concerns.

    • Train and onboard new staff members, ensuring they are familiar with museum procedures and expectations.

    Operational Oversight

    • Delegate and participate in daily museum tasks, including cleaning, organizing supplies, and chemical changes.

    • Ensure all museum supplies and materials are adequately stocked and organized.

    • Ensure staff is following mandatory safety procedures.

    • Make sure all employees receive required breaks and accurately clock in and out.

    Personnel Oversight

    • Mediate interpersonal or team conflicts to maintain a positive work environment

    • Address performance issues, attendance concerns, and conduct violations through coaching, documentation, and disciplinary action when necessary

    • Identify high-potential employees and support their development through mentorship and growth opportunities

    Machine Maintenance

    • Partake in weekly chemical changes for the booths.

    • Act as a team player, helping troubleshoot booth issues, changing paper, etc. 

     Qualifications

    • 3+ years of retail experience, with at least 1–2 years in a supervisory or management role

    • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills

    • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment

    • Proficiency with POS systems and basic computer applications (Excel, email, scheduling software)

    • Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays

    Physical Requirements

    • Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25–40 lbs

    A San Francisco-based photo booth company. We build custom permanent installations and bring digital photo booths to Bay Area events. Over the past ten years we've grown from a two-person operation into something bigger — and we need reliable people to help us keep expanding.

    The Role
    You'll transport the digital booth to events, coordinate briefly with event staff, handle installation, and configure camera settings. It's easy, fun work with interesting people at memorable venues across the Bay Area.

Photomatica is seeking a high-level, hands-on Human Resources Generalist to support and manage core HR functions.

  • About the Role

    Photomatica is seeking a high-level, hands-on Human Resources Generalist to support and manage core HR functions. This is an independent HR position that requires sound judgment, discretion, and the ability to work independently while supporting employees and leadership in a fast-paced, hands-on environment. The HR Generalist will serve as the primary HR contact for employee relations, legal matters, and compliance oversight, while also handling day-to-day HR operations like onboarding and benefits. You'll be a trusted point of contact for employees and managers, helping ensure our people practices are effective, fair, and aligned with company goals.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Administer benefits, 401(k), and leave programs — processing, changes, and audits — and serve as a first point of contact for employee questions.

    • Coordinate payroll inputs and changes in partnership with Finance, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.

    • Support HR compliance initiatives, audits, and documentation across applicable federal and state requirements.

    • Support the company's biannual performance review program, including coordination, communications, tracking participation, and supporting managers through the review cycle.

    • Assist in training managers on HR procedures, policies, and people processes to ensure consistent and compliant practices across the organization.

    • Serve as a resource for employees on HR policies, benefits, and workplace concerns

    • Assist with employee relations issues, investigations, and conflict resolution

    • Help develop and update HR policies and the employee handbook

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience)

    • 3+ years of experience in an HR generalist or similar role

    • Solid understanding of employment law and HR best practices

    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills

    • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities

    • Experience with Gusto

    • High level of discretion and sound judgment when handling confidential information


    Compensation 

    Range: $ 80,000- $90,000

    • 1 year of darkroom photography experience (required) — you'll be working with photographic chemicals regularly

    • A background in or strong passion for analog photography

    • Comfort with hands-on, mechanical troubleshooting; prior camera repair or rebuild experience is a big plus

    • Availability on weekends (required)

    • A friendly, helpful presence with customers

    • Must be able to lift 50 lbs
